pip & pop - sugarland inspiration!

we miss you magic land!
Pip & Pop is the beautifully otherworldly creation of the Australian duo, Tanya Schultz and Nicole Andrijevic.,
Drawing on children’s stories, creation myths, Buddhist cosmologies, video games and folktales, Pip and Pop create large-scale fantasy worlds coloured with a bright, often fluorescent palette, using cake-decorating tools, intricate layers of sugar, glitter, modelling clay and mirrors.
Their art brings me back to the imagined spaces of my childhood. Of cosmic, neon dream-worlds , Neverlands of shimmering volcanic lakes and stary skies. Sugar sweet universe.  xx

A space of my own

Visions of Space - Gaudí.

Inspiration.

Gaudí divides space into sections. Large, empty spaces in which natural light can pass.
He perfectly embodies the Catalan craft which preaches how "divergence is mostly more conspicious than convergence."

To Sense my Space......

Space means alot of things to me. It means privacy and seculsion; it means emptiness and fulness; miniscule and enormity..... But when I was presented with this brief for our project I immediately thought of artistic places that appeal to me. I thought of artists that use space (and create space) in such an aesthetically pleasing way. They create works of art which resonate with me and inspire me to create spaces of my own and to explore my own concepts of space in a multitude of ways.
